Our Story
Val d'Orcia, TuscanyCiao! I’m Tanya Raso, an American and the founder of Amici Vacations. An adventurer at heart, my love affair with Italy began 25 years ago while backpacking across Europe. Shortly after, I was offered an expatriate assignment in Switzerland and soon met my now husband, Davide Raso, an Italian born and raised in Switzerland. How convenient!
We’ve since traveled all over Italy with our two children, Luca and Elena, exploring each region, visiting family, and creating new connections. My job was to research and plan our itineraries and logistics. Davide helped execute, using his Italian language and charm to win everyone over. The perfect team!
Amici Vacations was born out of this passion for Italy and our enjoyment in sharing this remarkable country with our friends and family. We find it so rewarding and fulfilling to provide an immersive and authentic travel experience – sharing local insights and going beyond the typical tourist destinations. We are based in the U.S., but split our time between Minneapolis and Italy, continuing to explore and discover the best that Italy has to offer.

Tanya takes the lead on researching and designing memorable itineraries, leveraging her attention to detail, expertise in project management, and a discerning eye for quality and value. Skills developed during her 30-year career as a finance executive.

Davide is the local communications and relationship manager, utilizing his knowledge of Italian culture and language to ensure flawless execution of all plans and concierge services. He is also a music producer and bicycle/sports enthusiast and brings these elements to itineraries when needed.
